A Few Words About Us...

100% of the contestant families who filled out our post-pageant survey will come back and recommend to others!

We aim to give a first class pageant experience to our contestants and their families.

We have paid attention to a lot of little details that matter to YOU.  Also, we LISTEN to our pageant moms and our contestants and use that feedback to make Crown Jewels even BETTER.

We have made some changes for 2011.  Some of these changes were based on our experiences in 2010 - some were specifically requested by our contestant moms, and others just made sense to us.  We will continue to evolve and will always take YOUR input into consideration.  We care what you think.  We want your family to have the BEST experience possible.  No, not everyone can be Mega Ultimate Grand Supreme; but every family attending can have a pleasant and positive weekend.

I know that some of our natural only families will be disappointed that natural will not be a part of 2011 Crown Jewels.  We felt that we were trying to be too many things to too many people, and that we will be a better pageant if we narrow our scope.  We hope to find a natural partner who will be able to put on a natural pageant during the weekend of Crown Jewels, at the same location - so that our natural pageant friends can share in our weekend fun.

We adjusted our age groups a little bit - 4 and 5 will now be two separate age groups; our moms let us know that there is a wide difference between abilities of 4 year olds and 5 year olds.  Also, we will now have 9-10 and 11-12 - thank you moms who let us know that 11 better fits with 12 year olds as eleven usually begins wearing long dresses.  You loved our supreme groups for ultimates, grands and minis - they will be 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and 13 and up.  We shifted them around slightly with our changing the 10-11 group to 9-10 and 11-12.  For other supremes, the breakdowns will be 0-3, 4-8, and 9 and up.

ALL titles will receive a crown and banner.  In 2010, we had some titles not receiving crowns and some titles not receiving banners...in 2011 we are changing that.  Prizes will be added to the guaranteed cash as we receive entries - check our awards page for the latest information.

As the moms requested in our post pageant survey, supremes will now be computed by Beauty + 2 optionals, only one of which can be a photo!  Ties broken by highest beauty score.

Moms overwhelmingly voted to continue using everyday average people who don't know your kids as judges instead of switching to 'professionals.'  In 2011, photo judges will make comments on your scoresheets, and you will be able to talk to ALL judges (including photo judges) after crowning.

We will be providing snack breaks throughout the day on Saturday as well as our much loved 'mom massages' (your #1 favorite thing about Crown Jewels 2010!) as gifts from Crown Jewels to our contestant moms in 2011.

No fall backs - compete age day of pageant.  You may move up one age group.  (This was voted yes by 7/8 of our survey respondents).

No double crowning.  The jackpots may be awarded to any contestant regardless of the title that he or she has received, but there will be no second crown and these will not be viewed as titles.

Boys are welcome to compete.  They are eligible for any title.  We will add a title specifically for boys with 5 boys competing.  We will add 2 titles specifically for boys with 10 boys competing.

We will have a paid backup tabulator observing ALL tabulation to insure a fair contest.  Tabulation will be by computer.

Green robes (Ultimates and Grands) may not compete the next year but are reigning.  Gold robes (Minis) and all other titles may choose to compete OR reign.  Mega Ultimate will never compete again, but will be crowned a Lifetime Queen.

Late arrival to beauty misses lineup and you will not be eligible for side awards.  No other penalty for being late - you may compete when you arrive.  We are unable to wait and will keep the schedule moving, so we do not penalize the contestants who were on time.

First deposit in chooses spot in lineup.  Requests will attempt to be met, but obviously if 3 moms want their contestant last, only one contestant can be last.  We will refer to the dates of receipt of entry to confirm who gets the spot they want.  Please do NOT wait until the day before the pageant to talk to the director about spot in lineup.  This is determined weeks before the pageant and we will not be able to change your spot at the last minute.

Moms requested no crowning t-shirts - bring your favorite attire for crowning.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our initial survey and our post pageant survey.  We appreciate your input and we will continue to work to make Crown Jewels even more wonderful.
